THE SYNAPTIK - CANADA DEBUT - LIVE IN MONTREAL

Join us on Friday, November 8th at Newspeak for the debut performance of The Synaptik in Montreal.

The Palestinian-Jordanian rapper is at the forefront of a popular wave of Arabic rap and trap. His distinctive voice and potent lyrics have cemented him as one of the musical trailblazers of the Arabic-speaking world.

Exploring issues such as mental health, migration and social inequality, The Synaptik has taken the region’s pulse and broadcast it worldwide.

Since releasing his first album, Om Al Mawjat, The Synaptik has performed at dozens of local, regional, and international shows and festivals.

AL TAMAN ALBUM (2024)

The Synaptik’s album Al Taman is a coming-of-age journey that captures the introspective style that first drew in his fanbase. Released on August 8, 2024, the twenty-track album chronicles the rapper's progression over the past few years, showcasing his evolution both personally and artistically.

Al Taman blends emotionally resonant music with furious rhymes and masterful storytelling, featuring beatswitches that keep listeners on their toes. The Synaptik poses nuanced dialogue on weighty topics with a nonlinear narrative, which adds depth to the listening experience.

Produced entirely by Wardenclyph, Al Taman features collaborations with a range of rappers and musicians from across the region including: Freek (UAE), Lina Makhoul (Palestine), Al Darwish (Syria), Shbash (Jordan), Odeh (Germany), Kokym (Palestine).

Accompanying the album release is a visual novel featuring nineteen lyric visualizers on The Synaptik’s YouTube page.

BITTER MOUTHFEEL

Bitter Mouthfeel AKA BOUMPH, a daring new voice in the Arab hip-hop scene with an inventive blend of rap, rock, and reggae. BOUMPH introduces new sounds by merging music with a visual narrative that critiques consumerism and confronts the universal struggles of guilt and cultural identity. A reluctant anti-hero battling consumerism from within.

The name Bitter Mouthfeel—or BOUMPH—serves as both a symbolic and literal interpretation of the music's thematic essence: a bitter aftertaste left in the mouth after talking about the main themes that he explores. An unfiltered look at the discontent gnawing beneath the surface. BOUMPH’s music is layered with a distinctly Syrian dialect that anchors his work in Arab culture and references – a deliberate nod to his roots.
